Terry Cooper is a partner at Cooper & Company. He and his wife Val, who is a senior real-estate conveyancer with the Cooper & Company, raised their “Brady Bunch” family of five kids in Fort McMurray.
Terry and Val are Proud to say “McMurray’s My Home”. It’s been their home for over 35 years, and they are strong cheerleaders of this community.
Terry’s view is that the role of a lawyer is to help clients. To help them avoid disputes or, if they are in a dispute, to help them find a solution.
Our job is to tell clients what they need to hear, so that they can make proper decisions. Their friends, family, neighbors and business partners are always there to tell them what they want to hear. They need to know that their lawyer has the professional integrity to tell them what they need to hear.
Terry not only has extensive litigation experience, but also extensive experience working as a solicitor handling all areas of Corporate and Commercial law including Real-Estate Development, Contract and Lease Negotiation, to name a few areas of practice. He also provides strategic planning and advice for his many clients.
Terry and Val have both been very active supporting the community. In 2016 Terry received the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers "Gary J Bigg Champion of Justice Award" in recognition of his efforts to promote justice throughout his career but in particular in recognition of his effort to help those in our community who have been affected by the 2016 Fort McMurray Wildfire.
When they are not in the office you will often find them on the Birchwood Trails be it winter, spring, summer, or fall. One thing they love about Fort McMurray is that they can easily walk or cycle to work eight months of the year.
We are proud of Cooper & Company. We have a great team.
